Title:

Presubmittal Teleconference with Dominion Energy Nuclear Connecticut, Inc. Regarding Request for Alternative to American Society of Mechanical Engineers Requirements Related to Fillet Welds for Millstone Power Station, Unit No. 3 Date(s) and Time(s): January 22, 2019, 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM Location: Teleconference, OWFN-09-B6 Category: This is a Category 1 meeting. The public is invited to observe this meeting and will have one or more opportunities to communicate with the NRC after the business portion of the meeting but before the meeting is adjourned.

Purpose:

The purpose of this teleconference is to discuss Dominion Energy Nuclear Connecticut, Inc.'s (DENC, the licensee) planned relief request for Millstone Power Station, Unit No. 3 (Millstone 3), related to Millstone 3 fillet welds. The licensee requests relief from certain American Society of Mechanical Engineers Section XI requirements for two fillet welds fabricated during the "B" reactor plant component cooling water heat exchanger replacement project. The request would permit the two welds, which were made without a 200 degrees Fahrenheit preheat as required by the Code of Construction, to remain in service. The licensee will discuss the scope and proposed schedule associated with the Millstone 3 submittal.
