NRC-2011-0069-DRAFT-0002 ADJUDICATIONS STAFF Comment on FR Doc # 2011-11112 Submitter Information Name: Trent Sikes Address: Georgia General Comment I want to strongly encourage the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to adopt all the measures in this petition at a minimum. The NRC has a duty to protect the lives and property of the citizens of the United States from destruction caused by an accident at one of their licensed facilities.

The danger of long term separation from the power grid is something that should have been addressed years ago. Please adopt the measures in this petition with all haste. I also noticed in the petition that several nuclear powel' plants were at higher risk of spent fuel fire than the rest. I noticed most of these are in the south. Specifically, Vogtle and Hatch in Georgia, I request that these plants be the first to receive the upgrades necessary to make them safe in the event of power grid failur"e.

If all plants begin implementing backup plans at once it may create a back log, priority should be given to the plants most at risk now. Template = 5ECY-067 0510 https:/Ifdms.erulemaking.net/fdms-web-agency/componcnt/submitterInfoCoYcrPage?Cali=
