The Vendor recontact program aka Vendor Equipment Technical Information Program (VETIP) is a periodic effort to check with a plant's vendor list and check on changes or new vendor manuals.

At Salem, a ATWS event in February 1983 when a breaker failed to open, caused some corrective actions. Included was a desire to have licensees proactively get new info from vendors. How to go about doing this has become the province of this program.
