BOX I4000, JUNO BEACH, FL 33408 FLORIOA POWER 5 LIGHTCOMPANY November 24, l982 L-82-5I6 Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Attention: Mr. Darrell G. Eisenhut, Director Division of Licensing U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission 0/ashing ton, D.C. 20555
Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
Re:
St. Lucie Units I 8 2 Docket Nos. 50-335 & 50-389 Compliance w ith Inter im Cr iter ia of NUREG 0654 The meteorological instruments in place at FPL's St.
Lucie plant, which are described in Section 2.3 of the Final Safety Analysis Report for St. Lucie Plant Unit jj2; are the same instruments being used to m'easure atmospheric conditions at St.
Lucie Unif // I.
There is no intent to provide separate meteorological instrumentation for the two units since the equipment now in place meets the USNRC meteorological monitoring and emergency planning criteria.
In addition, the Emergency Planning dose calculations will be'determined for the entire site (both Units I and
- 2) from a single location, using the meteorological information as described above.
In the final configuration, the Unit 82 Control Room will receive meteorological information via the Safety Assessment System.
In the interim, that data will be accessible from the Unit 8 I Control Room by telephone.
Very truly yours, Robert E. Uhrig Vice President Advanced Systems
