A.
Contrary to requirements of 10 CFR 71.12, General License for Shiement and DOT S.:ecification Containers...(b)(1)(ii), tne licensee did not comply with the terms and conditions of the Certificate of Compliance j
No. 71-6697, in that drawing revisions were made for the GE Model 8500 Shipping Package, although those changes had not been submitted to the NRC for incorporation in the Certificate of Compliance No. 71-6697.
That matter with respect to the Model 8500 shipping package has been corrected. A similiar deficiency exists with respect to the GE Model 1300 shipping package in that drawing changes for that package have not been submitted to NRC.
It appears that similar deficiencies may exist with respect to several additional shipping packar s for which Certifi-cates of Compliance have been issued and use permits granted to the licensee.
This item of noncompliance is categorized as an infractien.
B.
Contrary to requirements of 10 CFR 71.12, General License for Shipment in DOT Soecification containers...(b)(1)(ii), the licensee failed to comply with item 5(b)(1)(ii), of Certificate of Ccmpliarce No. 9044 in that the licensee used on many occasions the GE Model 1600 shipping j
package for the transport of byproduct materials and special nuclear material in solid or oxide form without having tested the inner (primary) material container prior to the shipment.
