g!Diggs Our review of the Big Rock Point Reload G-1 subesittal is continuing.
However, additional information, as listed below, is required te supplement your responses to questions asked in our letter dated April 2, 1975, (1) Mixed Oxide fuel densification.
It is not sufficient to say that G-1 fuel will be made by the same processes as the G fuel and, therefore, will have the same densification behavior. Provide explicit information to confirm that they will behave similarly. This infomation should include a discussion of microstructural data, themal stability data, and other pertinent data.
(2) Mixed Oxide fuel thermal conductivity.
Provide the themal conductivity expression to be used in GAPEX for describing mixed oxide fuels.
Future sutsnittals should refer to the draft Regulatory Guide, which was forwarded to you June 23, 1975, to hvoid questions in these areas.
In addition, if future loadings of mixed oxide fuels are contemplated under Amendment 4, a general topical report by your fuel supplier on mixed oxide fuel performance will be required.
