This is in reply to your lctter and Appendix A received December 16, 1980,
Subject:
Inspection 80-02.
To correct the infraction cited in Appendix A, we have requested, by letter i
dated October 29, 1980, to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, that the Department's license be modified to permit these sources to be used at r
laboratories and facilities of the U.S. Department of Agriculture in all i
States and in rivers as authorized by the Department's Radiological Safety Committee (RSC). The letter of October 29, 1980, also requested that the Department's RSC be permitted to designate individuals as users or supervisors of the use of these scarces.
t These modifications to our license.will permit the Department to make changes in responsible users or a change in location without requesting an amendment 9cm NRC. This is consistent with other licenses in the Department and will enable us to stay in compliance if the responsible user is reassigned, retires, or leaves the Department.
If additional information is required, we shall be glad to furnish it upon request.
