PRAIRIE ISLAND 1&2 - ESF RESET CONTROL DESIGfi DEFICIENCY -
I&E BULLETIN 80-06 By Task Interface agreement ROI-80-15, the Office of Inspection and Enforce-ment assigned the responsibility to the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation for reviewing the licensee's responses to Itc:= 1 and 3 of I&E Bulletin 80-06.
Our review of the Northern States Power Company responses to the bulletin for the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant Units 1&2 is complete. The Technical Evaluation Report prepared by our contractor, EG&G, and our SER are attached.
We found that for all safety systems reviewed the safety related equipment remains in its emergency mode upon reset of the safety signals. Subject to confirmation by IE hat the confirmatory testing discussed in the Enclosure has been successfully ca.71eted we find the licensee's response to Items 1 and 3 of the IE Bulletin 80-06 acceptable.
