Washington, DC 20005 Re:

Consumers Power Company -

(Midland Plant, Units 1 and 2)

Dear Mr. McClain:

This will confirm our telephone conversation in which we agreed that the depositions of Louis Clark (sche-duled for May 16, 1983) and Thomas Devine (scheduled for May 23, 1983) would be continued in order to permit your firm to become familiar with the case.

We further agreed that the deposition of Billie Garde (scheduled for June 6, 1983) may l

also be continued if she will be attending the reconvened QA hearings.

Finally, it was agreed that you would indicate as soon as possible but no later than the week of May 30, 1983, whether or not you will seek to quash the subpoenas.

Absent sugh a motion, we will reschedule the depositions at mutually convenient times.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Very truly ou t
