965 Chesterbrook Boulevard Wayne. PA 19087 5691 August 28,1994 Docket No. 50-277 License No. DPR-44 U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555

Subject:

Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Unit 2 Revision to Technical Specifications Change Request No. 94-05

Reference:

Letter from G. A. Hunger, Jr. (PECO Energy) to U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission dated May 13,1994

Dear Sir:

In the above referenced letter, PECO Energy Company submitted, in accordance with 10 CFR 50.90, Technical Specifications Change Request (TSCR) No. 94-05 which requested a change to Appendix A of the Peach Bottom Facility Operating Ucense No. DPR-44. The proposed change would extend the Type A test (i.e., Containment Integrated Leak Rate Test (CILRT))

interval on a one-time basis for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station (PBAPS),

Unit 2.

PECO Energy Company hereby requests toat our original submittal be revised such that the submitted page 167 be deleted and replaced with the attached page 167 for PBAPS, Unit 2.

The current PBAPS, Unit 2 Technical Specification Surveillances Requirement 4.7.A.2.c.2 requires that a set of three Type A tests be performed at approximately equal intervals during each 10-year period. Page 167 of the PBAPS, Unit 2 Technical Specifications was submitted with proposed wording that would delete the Technical Specifications requirement to perform a CILRT during the upcoming PBAPS, Unit 2 refueling outage 10 scheduled to occur the Fall of 1994. These words are being further clarified to provide the eneption that the third Type A test (CILRT) in the second 10-year service peric j will not be performed, and that the CILRT will be performed during the PBAPG, Unit 2 refueling outage 11, currently scheduled for September 1996.
