DOCATT NO. 50-324 LICENSE NO. DPR-62 SPECIAL REPORT PER TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 3.7.8
Dear Mr.!O'Reilly:
During Unit No._2 power operation--two fire barrier LCOs with respective
- issuance dates of March 7 and 8, 1983, were generated on two Control Building fire doors. One of the doors, No. 210, was declared inoperable due to a problem with the door self-closing device. The other door, No. 303, was declared inoperable because of encountered high differential air pressure across the door which prevents automatic self-closure. The door self-closing device of door No. 210 was repaired; however, postmaintenance testing of the r
door revealed it would not self-close as a result.of the encountered high differential air pressure across the door as. experienced with door No. 303.
r-As a result of this event,. plant Engineering has been requested to evaluate the subject. differential air pressure problem.
Until-the return of the two
~ doors to operability and cancellation of the LCOs, appropriate stationed fire watches at these doors will remain in effect.
Very truly yours, b Wy C. R. Dietz, General Manager Brunswick Steam Electric Plant RMP/dj/LETDJ4 Enclosure L
