ENERGY CONSERVATION.

WHEREAS, the City of Fillmore is vitally concertied that the 6
economic, environmental and social well-being of the State of California be k
7 maintained, and

UHEREAS, an adequate supply of energy is critical to meetin 9
California's economic and social needs while preserving the environmental gains 10 of the past decade; and 11 WiEREAS, there is a probability that instability in the Middle I
12 East will, at some near future time, result in reduced supplies of oil, thereby 13 causing further social and economic chaos here at home, and 14 i
WitEREAS, there must be a strong commitment to conservation of the I
15 nation's limited resources and development of efficient and secure new sources i
16 of energy here at home, and l
I 17 UHEREAS, regulatory delays in the planning and licensing of needed 5
I 18 energy facilities are costly to the consumer, damaging to the environment, and 19 result in greater importation of foreign oil; 20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Fillmore supports 21 1.
Developing alternative forms of energy such as solar, 22 geothermal and wind; 23 2.
The expediting of licensing the San Onofre Units !! and !!!
24 nuclear power plants; and I'

A continued cournitment to conservation of our energy 26 l resources.
