SUBJECT:

REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON V0GTLE OPEN ITEM 17, " TRAINING PROGRAM" In order to clarify the nature and scope of changes to the Vogtle Final Safety Analysis Report Amendment 24 in the training area, the following additional information is requested:

lesson plans or learning objectives for topics in training for mitigating core damage for licensed operators, senior operators, and shift technical advisors.

lesson plans or learning objectives for topics in fuel handling and core alterations as covered in systems training for licensed operators and senior operators, and lesson plans or learning objectives for topics in Vogtle license and Technical Specifications as covered in control room operations training for licensed operators and senior operators.

This information is aimed at resolving the open items in the staff's safety evaluation of the Vogtle training programs and should be submitted within 30 days of the date of this letter in order to allow adequate resolution prior to Unit I fuel load.
