COMPLIANCE WITH ATWS RULE 10 CFR-50.62 (TAC NO. 59157).
J By letter dated March 20,1987' and supplements thereto dated April 16, 1987
.and October 5, 1987, Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation submitted a detailed design description of the ATWS Mitigation System Actuation Circuitry (AMSAC). proposed for installation at the Wolf Creek Generating Station.
~.The staff has' completed its review of your submittal and concludes that the AMSAC design proposed by Wolf: Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation for-the Wolf Creek Generating Station is: acceptable and is.in compliance with the ATWS Rule, 10 CFR,50.62, paragragh (c)(1).
The staff ~is presently reviewing ATWS requirements and the " Commission Policy' l
. Statement of Technical Specification Improvements for Nuclear Power Plants" to
-determine which regulatory requirements and operating. restrictions should be included in the Wolf Creek' Technical Specifications to assure that your ATWS L
mitigation system will perform its function in a reliable manner.
We will-provide guidance regarding the technical specifications for AMSAC at a,later.
