SUMMARY
OF THE APRIL 11, 2024, FRAMATOME TOPICAL REPORT FOR LEAD TEST ASSEMBLIES GUIDANCE PRE-SUBMITTAL PUBLIC MEETING
On April 11, 2024, the U.S. Nuclear Regulator y Commission (NRC) staff held a virtual public meeting with Framatome via Microsoft Teams. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss Framatomes future Topical Report (TR) s ubmittal regarding licensing guidance for lead test assemblies (LTAs). The meeting notice and pres entation slides can be found in ADAMS under Accession Nos. ML24102A155 and ML24100A792, respectively.
This meeting covered the general purpose of the upcoming TR, which is to provide guidance to licensees regarding the utilization of LTAs within the context of their existing licensing bases. Per the presentation, the scope of this TR is limited to plants which already have an LTA provision in their Technical Specifications and are shown to be compliant (not requiring prior NRC approval),
or not compliant (requiring a license amendment). Framatome intends to submit the TR in June 2024, requesting approval in June 2025.
No public comments were received during the public comment period.
No regulatory decisions were made in the meeting.
