October 5, 2023 James Warden, Director Office of Nuclear Energy, Safety & Security Affairs, Room 3320 HST Bureau of International Security

& Nonproliferation U.S. Department of State 2201 C Street, NW Washington, D.C. 20520

Dear Dir. Warden:

Enclosed is an application, accepted by the US. Nuclear Regulatory Commission on September 13, 2023, from SRB Technologies Inc., requesting an amendment to their current license, XB1331/01. The current license authorizes the export of up to 46,250 terabecquerels (TBq) of self-illuminated tritium (H-3) light sources and devices to SRB Technologies (Canada),

Inc.

The purpose of the amendment is to extend the expiration date from December 31, 2023, to December 31, 2028, and increase the total activity from 46,250 TBq to 50,000 TBq.

Before taking action on this new request, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the requested export meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.

Should you have any questions, please contact Licensing Officer, Joanne Savoy at Joanne.Savoy@nrc.gov and/or Licensing Assistant, Charlese Smith at Charlese.Smith@nrc.gov.

Sincerely, 10/5/2023 X Peter J. Habighorst Peter J. Habighorst Signed by: Peter J. Habighorst Peter J. Habighorst, Chief Export Controls and Nonproliferation Branch Office of International Programs
