TN Americas LLC, on behalf of TN International (TNI)., requests a U.S.

Department of Transportation (DoT) revalidation of the Competent Authority of Japan, Certification for Approval of Package Design for Transport of Radioactive Materials, Identifiction Mark: J/2009/AF-96 (Rev. 1) [1] in accordance with

§173.473.

The request being submitted is to revalidate J/2009/AF-96(Rev. 1) that is a Type AF packaging meeting the applicable requirements for fissile material packages

E-56661 April 30, 2020 Page 2 of 2 in Section VI of the International Atomic Energy Agency Regulations (IAEA) for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Material, SSR-6, 2012 Edition.

A cross reference, NFK-MPCF-2003002 [2], is provided that associates the IAEA regulations with the applicable sections in the Safety Analysis Report for the GP-01, NFK-MPC-1801024

[3].

An international shipment of the GP-01 is planned for April 2021. The shipment will originate in Japan and transit the U.S. inroute to a destination in Europe.
