Title:

Public Meeting to Discuss the Proposed Rulemaking on Increased Enrichment of Conventional and Accident Tolerant Fuel Designs for Light-Water Reactors Date(s) and Time(s): June 22, 2022, 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM ET Location: Hybrid, HQ-OWFN-06B02 Category: This is a Comment-Gathering Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is for NRC staff to meet directly with individuals to receive comments from participants on specific NRC decisions and actions to ensure that NRC staff understands their views and concerns.

Purpose:

To engage with the public regarding potential regulatory issues to consider during the development of the rulemaking detailed in SECY-21-0109, Rulemaking Plan on Use of Increased Enrichment of Conventional and Accident Tolerant Fuel Designs for Light-Water Reactors, (ADAMS Accession No. ML21232A237) and Staff Requirements Memorandum SECY-21-0109 (ADAMS Accession No. ML22075A103).

This meeting provides an opportunity for the NRC staff to hear insights from the public regarding the scope of regulations and guidance documents that should be evaluated in the rulemaking effort to address industrys interest in use of light-water reactor fuel containing uranium enriched to greater than 5.0 weight percent uranium-235.

Finalized presentations should be submitted prior to Friday, June 17, 2022, 4:00 PM ET and will be added to ADAMS to be made available to the public prior to the meeting.
