FINAL STAGGERED REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR THE MODEL NO. GP-01, CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE NO. 3098 - MATERIAL EVALUATION (EPID L-2020-LLA-0107)

Dear Mr. Boyle:

By letter dated May 11, 2020 [Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20143A100], and as supplemented on August 5, 2020 (ADAMS Package Accession No. ML20231A505), the U.S. Department of Transportation requested that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff perform a review of the Japanese Approval Certificate Number J/2009/AF-96, Revision 1, Model No. GP-01 transport package, and make a recommendation concerning the revalidation of the package for import and export use.

The staff is issuing a final staggered request for additional information (RAI). The staff issued the first staggered RAI on October 2, 2020 (ADAMS Accession No. ML20276A034). In connection with our review, we need the information identified in the enclosure to this letter.

The enclosure contains only the questions related to the material evaluation. Additional information requested by this letter should be submitted in the form of revised pages, when applicable. Please provide your complete responses to both requests for additional information within the same submittal. To assist us in scheduling, the staff review of your response, we request that you provide this information 45 calendar days from the date of this letter. Inform us at your earliest convenience, but no later than 15 days from the date of this letter, if you are not able to provide the information by the timeline specified in this letter. If you are unable to provide a response 45 calendar days from the date of this letter, our review may be delayed.
