EQUIPMENT QUALIFICATION INSPECTION OF TROJAN NOCLEAR PLANT l (INSPECTIONNO. 50-344/87-13)- ._

This letter confirms the dates of May 18 through 22, 1987 for the NRC equipment l

qualification (EQ) inspection for Trojan. These dates were established during <

previous telephone conversations with your staff by Mr. S. D. Alexander of this-office. The inspection will take place at your corporate engineering offices in Portland on May 18-22, 1987 and at at the plant site May. 20, 1987.

A management entrance meeting is scheduled for.3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 1987-at your corporate engineering offices in Portla'nd. A management exit meeting is tentatively scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 1987 also at the Portland engineering offices. A plant walkdown inspection is planned for Wednesday, May 20, 1987.

The inspection will include the following:

1. Review of your implementation of a 10 CFR 50.49 program including preser-vation of the qualified status of qualified equipment.

P. Review of your implementation of Technical. Evaluation Report / Safety Eval-uation Report EQ corrective action commitments.

3. Review of EQ documentation files.

4. Physical inspection of selected plant equipment and selected field wiring.
