NRC FORM 529 U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION (01-2021) 10 CFR 15 INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING NRC FORM 529, DISPUTE OF FEES-FOR-SERVICE CHARGES IN ACCORDANCE WITH TITLE 10 OF THE CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS (10 CFR) §170.51 A debtor may dispute debt related to fees associated with their NRC Invoice (In accordance with 10 CFR §15.31).

This form is intended to be used only for disputes of charges of Part 170 fees (also referred to as fees-for-service).

This form is not for requesting a Fee Exemption under 10 CFR §§170.11 or 171.11.

For more information on how to request a fee Exemption, please refer to 10 CFR §§170.5 and 171.9.

If your have questions regarding 10 CFR §15.31, "Disputed Debts.," or NRC Form 529, please e-mail them to: FeeBillingInquiries.Resource@nrc.gov Please read instructions carefully.

1. Confirm that all the following pre-conditions for submission of the NRC Form 529 are met by checking each of the boxes below:

I confirm this is not a Fee Exemption request pursuant to 10 CFR §§170.11 or 171.11. All Fee Exemption requests must be submitted in writing to the Chief Financial Officer in accordance with 10 CFR §§170.5 and 171.9, and the Chief Financial Officer will grant or deny such requests in writing.

I certify that the NRC Form 527, Request for Information Related to Fees-for-Service, was submitted and the NRC's response was received by my organization.

I understand that this request is an official request for dispute and a final determination of the status of the disputed debt will be decided by the NRC.

I understand that if the full invoice amount has not been paid, this debt will remain outstanding.

I understand that submission of this request does not obligate the NRC to stop/waive Interest, Penalties, or Administrative Fees that may have accrued in accordance with 10 CFR §15.37.

I understand that changes to the debt amount will be applied based on the outcome of the NRC's review.

I understand that the NRC will respond to my dispute request on page 1 of NRC Form 529.

2. Complete all applicable fields on pages 1 and 2 of NRC Form 529.
3. Submit the completed NRC Form 529, Dispute of Fees-for-Service Charges, via one of the three methods below:
