SUBJECT: NRC INTEGRATED INSPECTION REPORT 50-369/98-04, 50-370/98-04 AND
Dear Mr. Barron:
On April 24, 1998, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed a special
two-week team inspection at your McGuire Nuclear Station. The enclosed report
presents the results of that inspection.
The overall corrective action program and associated processes at your
facility were found to be adequate. However, a violation of NRC requirements
was identified and is cited in the enclosed Notice of Violation (Notice). The
circumstances surrounding the violation are described in detail in the
enclosed report. Please note that you are required to resoond to this letter
and should follow the instructions specified in the enclosed Notice when
preparing your response. The NRC will use your response. in part, to
determine whether further enforcement action is necessary to ensure compliance
with regulatory requirements.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a) of the NRC's " Rules of Practice." a copy of
this letter and its enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room
(POR).
