Gentlemen:

This is in reference to your letters dated May 7, 1986 and July 2, 1986 to

amend your byproduct material license. In order to complete our review, we

need the following additional information:

1. You should submit an outline of the training program used by Dr. William

Paton to instruct Dr. Jordan Holloway in the use of the Lixiscope for

diagnostic studies. Also, indicate the number of hours of training

given for. each topic shown on the outline. This training should be at

least 8 hours9.259259e-5 days <br />0.00222 hours <br />1.322751e-5 weeks <br />3.044e-6 months <br /> in duration and must include Items a. , b. , and d. , as

shown on Form NRC-313M, Supplement A, copy enclosed.

Please note that, as discussed in Appendix A to Regulatory Guide 10.8,

training pertinent to an application should have been obtained within 5

years of the date of the application. Training prior to that time

frame is not normally considered unless the individual has had continuous

involvement in nuclear medicine programs.

2. Similar training and experience documentation must be submitted for each

physician'to be named on the license as an authorized user.

We will continue the review of your amendment request upon receipt of this

information. If we do not receive a reply from you within 30 calendar days

from the date of this letter, we shall assume that you do not wish to pursue

your application. Please reply in duplicate, and refer to Mail Control No.

70396. .
