50-370/99-02

Dear Mr. Barron: i
This refers to the inspection conducted between February 14,1999, and March 27,1999, at l
McGuire Nuclear Station. The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
During the six-week period covered by this inspection, your conduct of activities at the McGuire '
facility was generally characterized by safety-conscious operations, sound engineering and i
maintenance practices, and careful radiological work controls. 4
Based on the results of this inspection, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has
determined that seven violations of NRC requirements occurred. These violations are being
treated as a Non-Cited Violations (NCVs), consistent with Appendix C of the Enforcement
Policy. The NCVs are described in the subject inspection report. If you contest the violation or
severity level of these NCVs, you should provide a response within 30 days of the date of this / ,
inspection report, with the basis for your denial, to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, ATTN ,
Document Control Desk, Washington DC 20555-0001, with copies to the Regional
Administrator, Region ll, and the Director, Office of Enforcement, United States Nuclear /
Regulatory Commission, Washington, DC 20555-0001. ,
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a) of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter, its
enclosure, and any response you choose to make will be placed in the NRC Public Document
Room (PDR).
