Dear Mr. Okvist:
On December 8,1997, Mr. Steven R. Courtemanche of this office conducted a safety
inspection at the TOSCO Refining Company, 4101 Post Ro;d, Trainer, Pennsylvania of
activities authorized by the above NRC licanr9 Your activities in NRC jurisdiction are
authorized by a general license granted by 1 CFP 150.20(a). The inspection was an
examination of your licensed activities as they relatw to radiation safety and to
compliance with the Commission's regulations and the license conditions. The
inspection was limited to observations by the inspector, interviews with personnel and
selective examination of records related to activities within the NRC's jurisdiction. A
copy of the NRC inspection report is enclosed. The findings of the inspection were
discussed with Mr. Robert L. Kelley of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified,
in accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10,
Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the Publ%
Document Room. No reply to this letter is required.
