STAFF REQUIREMENTS - BRIEFING ON FINAL RULE ON EMERGENCY PLANNING AND PREPAREDNESS REQUIRE-MENTS FOR NUCLEAR POWER PLANT FUEL LOADING AND INITIAL LOW POWER OPERATIONS, 2:00 P.M.,

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 1988, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, ONE WHITE FLINT NORTH, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE)

The commission

  • was briefed by the Office of the General Counsel and the staff on a proposed final rule on emergency planning requiroments for nuclear power plants during fuel loading and low power testing (up to 5 percent power) . The proposed final rule reconciles discrepancies between the 4 language of the statement of considerations and the language of the Commission's 1982 emergency planning rule.

The Commission requested that in future promulgation of final rulemaking, the staff ensure conoiatency between the statement of considerations and the final rule.
