  • TheUniversityofKamas Schoolof Engineenng January 8,1993 U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C. 20555 Attention: Document Control Desk RE: Dockel Number 50-148 In accordance with Facility License R-78, the following annual report is submitted for the period January 1,1992 to December 31,1992.
1. A summary of environmental surveys performed outside the facility is attached.
2. No signillcant exposures (above 500 mrem) have been received by facility personnel or by visitors. The maximum exposure of any individual has been less than the minimum measurable quantity given by the dosimetry i contractor for the 111ms used,10 mrem or 40 mrem.
3. There have been no reported occurrences.
4. The Decommissioning Plan was ratifled by the Nuclear Reactor Committee at a meeting on September 17,1992.
5. The Nuclear Reactor was completely demolished in October, November and December. The contractor was Chemical Waste Management Remedial Services Group, Inc.

G. Weekly progress reports were prepared and are in my office in Learned Hall

7. On December 2,1992, Mr. A.D. Gaines from the NRC ofilce in Arlington, Texas, inspected the site. Within the scope of this inspection, no violations or deviations were identified.

8. On December 21,1992, the Nuclear Reactor Committee at the University of Kansas met and toured the remains of where the Nuclear Reactor was located.
9. 'Ihe University of Kansas 13 now waiting for a final inspection by the NRC in order for the University to have its license deactivated.
