Licensee Event Report l Limerick Generating Station - Unit 2 This'LER reports a Unit 2 manual reactor scram, a Reactor ,

Protection System actuation, resulting from a failure of a :

ball joint which connects the reactor recirculation pump l motor generator set scoop tube to the tube positioner. An analysis revealed the ball joint failed from high stress i reverse bending fatigue from low amplitude low frequency vibration induced by the fluid coupler.
