Dear Mr. Denton:

We wish to clarify our letter to you of October 17, 1984 regarding a change in the status of our reactor license.

We have been operating under an extension of our original license, pending action of the commission on our renewal application. We wish now to modify the renewal request to provide for possession only status until 1990. A modified set of Technical Specifica-tions has been submitted to you for your approval which will govern the University's management of the facility under this status.
