REPORT ON TRIP TO BROWNS FERRY DATE OF VISIT: March 21, 2002 PURPOSE OF VISIT: Meet with the SRI and plant management, and participate in Annual Assessment Meeting INSPECTOR OBSERVED: Ward Smith SENIOR LICENSEE PERSON CONTACTED: Ashok S. Bhatnagar, Site Vice President OBSERVATIONS NOTED WITH PLANT:
Due to security changes at the site, the Browns Ferrry Annual Assessment Meeting was conducted at the Athens, AL Days Inn. The meeting was conducted as planned, with the Branch Chief providing the ROP overview and the SRI discussing plant specific performance.
Other than TVA personnel, there were two newspaper reporters, one radio news person and one TV reporter, all of whom talked with the Branch Chief and some with the SRI. Also, six local/state emergency preparedness official and one local resident were present, but did not ask any questions. The meeting had been well-advertised by both the print media and TV from the Region II press release. The meeting appeared to be well-received by those in attendance.
