SURRY POWER STATION UNIT 2 WITHDRAWAL OF PROPOSED EMERGENCY TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION CHANGE FOR ONE TIME EXTENSION OF THE ALLOWED OUTAGE TIME FOR TWO INOPERABLE AUXILIARY FEED WATER PUMPS ON THE OPPOSITE UNIT In a November 30, 2004 letter (Serial No.04-731), Dominion requested an emergency amendment of the Facility Operating License, in the form of changes to the Technical Specifications (TS) to Facility Operating License Number DPR-37 for Surry Power Station Unit 2. Surry Unit 2 entered the 14-day Allowed Outage Time of TS 3.6.G.1 at 1130 hours0.0131 days <br />0.314 hours <br />0.00187 weeks <br />4.29965e-4 months <br /> on November 17, 2004 for two inoperable Auxiliary Feedwater ( A M )
pumps on the opposite unit. The proposed change requested a revision to TS 3.6.G.1 to permit a one-time 7-day extension of the 14-day Allowed Outage Time to complete the repair of the Unit 1 motor driven AFW pump 1-FW-P-36. However, maintenance activities for repair, testing and return to service of the pump were completed within the 14-day Allowed Outage Time and the pump was returned to service at 0755 hours0.00874 days <br />0.21 hours <br />0.00125 weeks <br />2.872775e-4 months <br /> on November 30, 2004. Therefore, Dominion is withdrawing the proposed emergency Technical Specifications change.
