O LER #: 50-366/1981-059 Licensee: Georgia Power Company Facility Name: Edwin I. Hatch Docket #: 50-366 Narrative Report for LER 50-366/1981-059 On 6-22-81, while oper.ating at 86% power, HNP-2-1050, Daily Channel Surveillance Checks, was performed. This procedure revealed that the postaccident torus water level indicator 2T48-R622A was reading approximately 25 inches higher than the redundant indicator 2T48-R622B. The indicator was declared inoperative per Tech Specs section 3.3.6.4.a. This is a nonrepetitive event. The cause of this event has been attrib-uted to low fluid level in the reference leg sensing line. MR 2-81-2723 was written to backfill the low sensing line on transmitter 2T48-N0101A. The indicator was declared operative and returned to service. Plant operation was not affected as a result of this event. The health and safety of the public was not affected. A generic review revealed that Unit 1 uses a different type of indicator. I i < l l l
