Dear Mr. Engelken:
6 This letter updates our January 28, 1980 response to IE Bulletin 79-28 and provides a current description of PGandE actions required by this bulletin. The bulletin requires corrective actica for safety-related Namco limit switches with date codes between 02-79 and 08-79.
Following cur January 28, 1980 letter, PGandE deternu.ned frcm a u lkdown of Diallo Canycn Units 1 and 2 that there are nine safety-related Namco limit switches date W 04-79 in Unit 1 ard twelve in Unit 2. This total nucber of switches (21) differs frcm the number (27) previously wim Led. Since our January 28, 1980 letter, six entire Namco switch asse-blies w re replaced with units date coded later than 08-79. There are no I
other safety-related Namco limit switches with date codes between 02-79 ard i 08-79 at Diablo Canyon. As required by IE Bulletin 79-28, tcp cover gaskets for the switches in Unit 1 have been replaced ard no further action is necessary.
Pequired carrective action for the Unit 2 switches is in progress.
As was the case with Unit 1, the number of switches identified as requiring gasket replacment in Unit 2 (12) could be reduced if same of these switch f.
