Dear Ms. Carpenter and To Whom It May Concern,
During the first or second day of the hearing in the week of July 21st in Newfane, one of your experts fell asleep. Dr. William H. Reed had his head way back on the chair, eyes closed and mouth open for about 30 seconds. I saw this myself attending the meetings as a citizen. This kind of behavior does not instill public confidence in the expertise of your judges. Dr. Reed also seemed the least engaged during the hearing.
Likewise confidence wanes when your representative, Mr. Rowley, read about 5 pages and 50 corrections to the NRC's sworn statement at the beginning of the hearing.
It also does not instill confidence when your email address comes up as marcia.carpenterLnrc.gov on the NRC's website http:/iivww.nrc.govireading-rmidoc-collections/newsi200i0/8-044.i.html when it is spelled Carpentier. Is this the best our federal government can be while protecting the public's interest?
