| Title | Notification of Unusual Event Due to Earthquake Felt on Site |
| Event Description | At 1326 PDT, the licensee declared a notification of unusual event under emergency action level HU.1 for an earthquake felt on site. The reactor was not operating at the time of the event. There was no equipment damage or personnel injuries due to this event. The earthquake registered a 4.4 on the Richter scale with the epicenter approximately 9 miles from the facility.
The licensee notified the California Office of Emergency Services. At 1357 PDT, the licensee terminated the notification of unusual event. The NRC remained in the normal mode of operations. Notified DHS SWO, FEMA Operations Center, FEMA NWC (email), DHS NICC and DHS Nuclear SSA (email). |
