On March 12, 2012, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Reference 1 to all power reactor licensees and holders of construction permits in active or deferred status. Enclosure 4 of Reference 1 contains specific Requested Actions, Requested Information, and Required Responses associated with Recommendation 2.3 for Flooding Walkdowns.

Specifically, Enclosure 4 of Reference 1 states that within 180 days of the NRC's endorsement of the walkdown process (Reference 2), each addressee will submit its final response, including a list of any areas that are unable to be inspected due to inaccessibility and a schedule for when the flooding walkdown will be completed.

Attachment 1 to this letter contains the STP Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC) flooding walkdown response for South Texas Project Units 1 and 2, performed in accordance with References 2 and 3. Attachment 2 provides a list of the restricted access items and scheduled inspection dates for completing the walkdowns when conditions allow.STI: 33626716 NOC-AE-1 2002932 Page 2 of 3 A list of commitments is provided in Attachment 3 to this letter.
