Dear Senator Chiles:

I am deeply troubled by the situation at the Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant in s.Florida.The leakage of over 500 pounds of boric acid around the head of a reactor vessel which has corroded the rim and some of the sealing bolts in Unit 4 could possibly lead to a meltdown. What is even more troubling is that F P&L has refused to test the welds inside this reactor vessel.I understand that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission is studying the situation but that does not satisfy me.I urge you to use your office to ascertain the truth of what is happening at Turkey Point and to make sure that all safety steps are being taken to prevent a potential disaster.Thank you.Ij Joan Graff
