Dear Hr. Chairman:
l Pubitc Law 97-415, enacted on January 4,1983, annended Section 189 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 to authorize the Nuclear Regulatory Comission l to issue and make imediately effective any arendment to an operating ,
license upon a detennination by the Comission that such amendment involves no significant hazards consideration, notwithstanding the pendency before the Comission of a request for a hearing.
In addition, the legislation requires the Comission to periodically (but ;
not less frequently than once every thirty days) publish notice of any amendments issued, or proposed to be issued, under the new authority above. ;
Enclosed for your infonnation is a copy of the Comission's Biweekly Notice l of Applications and Amendments to Operating Licenses involving no significant I hazards contiderations, which was published in the Federal Register on :
