l Pubitc Law 97-415, enacted on January 4,1983, annended Section 189 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 to authorize the Nuclear Regulatory Comission l
to issue and make imediately effective any arendment to an operating license upon a detennination by the Comission that such amendment involves no significant hazards consideration, notwithstanding the pendency before the Comission of a request for a hearing.
In addition, the legislation requires the Comission to periodically (but not less frequently than once every thirty days) publish notice of any amendments issued, or proposed to be issued, under the new authority above.

hazards contiderations, which was published in the Federal Register on July 27, 1988.
