REQUEST FOR HEARING SUBMITTED ON BEHALF OF THE NORTH CAROLINA WASTE AWARENESS AND REDUCTION NETWORK, INC., AND THE NUCLEAR INFORMATION AND RESOURCE SERVICE, INC.
We have received a request for hearing dated May 18, 2007, and submitted by John D. Runkle on behalf of the North Carolina Waste Awareness and Reduction Network, Inc. (NCWARN) and the Nuclear Information and Resource Service, Inc.
(NIRS). The request for hearing was submitted in response to a "Notice of Opportunity for Hearing related to the application for a renewal of the facility operating license for the Carolina Power & Light Company, Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1 (50-400)," issued by the NRC Staff. The notice addressed the request by the Licensee for the renewal of the facility operating license NPF-63. The Notice was published in the Federal ReQister at 72 Fed. Reg. 13139 (March 20, 2007).
The request for hearing is in ADAMS as ML071430566. The request for hearing is being referred to you for appropriate action in accordance with 10 C.F.R. 2.346.
