When discussing RSI 4.1, 1N stated that they would provide justification that the temperatures provided in Tables A.4.11.2-4 and A.4.11.2-5 were bounding for the change requested in the amendment.

They also discussed the basis for their justification and indicated that the models would not require updating.

For RSI 4.2, 1N took some time to clarify that, for this portion of the amendment, they wanted to provide the user with the option of insuring adequate heat removal for the 24PT1 dry shielded container either using the previously approved temperature monitoring system or performing visual inspections of the storage module vents. After considering the information provided by 1N, staff questioned if the safety analysis report text provided with the application supported the temperature limit being reviewed.

1N indicated that they would clearly identify the information provided in the application which supported the requested change. 1N committed to providing calculations for RSI 5.1 which justified the dose rate limits proposed in the amendment as well as providing text in the safety analysis report discussing the dose rate limits.
