"At approximately 0940 [EDT] a deceased sturgeon and at approximately 10:44 two live sturgeons, were removed from the Salem Unit 1 Circulating Water System (CWS) Intake trash racks at the Salem Generating Station. The sturgeons were confirmed by a site biological expert to be Atlantic sturgeons which is an 'endangered' species. Atlantic sturgeons are federally listed as 'endangered' species under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended. Nuclear Environmental Affairs has made a determination that this is a 4 hour report to the NRC under RAL 11.8.2.a. | |||
