Comanche Peak Project is undertaking a test program to provide additional data on the perfonnance of Richmond Inserts.
Comanche Peak Project is undertaking a test program to provide additional data on the perfonnance of Richmond Inserts. This letter provides a general outline of the physical testing to be performed at Comanche Peak on 1 1/2" diameter Richmond Type EC-6W inserts for shear strength.             Generally the test will be performed in accordance with ASTM E-488-76.             Nine specimens will be tested by the following methods:

Nine specimens will be tested by the following methods:
A) Three specimens will be tested with the shear load plate attached directly to the insert by an ASTM A-490 bolt.

B) Three specimens will be tested with the shear load plate separated from the insert by a one inch shim plate and employing an ASTM A-490 bolt.
