JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 1 NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

OF OPERATIONS MAY, 1983 During the month of May there were no unit shutdowns. The unit was reduced to thirty-five percent power on May 25, 1983 during resolution of RCS unidentified leakage in excess of 1 gpm.

In addition to items previously_ reported, the following safety-related maintenance was performed in the month of April.

1.

Performed preventive maintenance (MP-28.114) on reactor trip breakers.

2.

Reactor trip breaker undervoltage devices were replaced.

3.

Critical dimensions were measured on both new and old under-i voltage devices.

The following safety-related maintenance was performed in the month of

_j 1.

Performed safety-related maintenance on diesel generators.

Replacement of HFA' relays.

2 3.

Repaired body-bonnet steam leak on TDAFW pump steam admission valve Q1N12HV3234B.

4.

Repaired-leak on liquid waste disposal system valve Q1G21V306.

5.

Repacked #5, #7 and #9 river water pumps.
