" Emergency Diesel Generator 'A' Construction Damage" Final Report on March 22, 1984, an Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) "A" overload condition was reported as PRD 161.

Further evaluation of the previously described condition indicates this condition is not considered reportable p'irsuant to 10CFR50.55(e).

EVALUATION During performance of OP-903-068, Surveillance Procedure, EDG "A" was overloaded to 5.8 eegawatts for a period of 1 to 2 minutes. The root cause of the overload condition was attributed to an improper governor setting. After recognizing the condition, LP&L immediately notified the vendor, Cooper Energy Services. On March 24, 1984, full load surveillance test was performed for one hour.

The test revented that no damage had occurred as a results of the overland condition. Based upon successful performance of EDG "A" during surveillance testing, this condition is not considered reportable.

Very truly yours, w,d
