| event text = On August 4, 2009, at approximately 0953 hours (CDT), a severe thunderstorm was experienced causing a loss of 12 of 44 emergency sirens (approximately 27 percent) for Clinton Power Station. At 1053 hours (CDT), since the sirens were not restored to operation within one hour, this event was determined to be a major loss of emergency assessment capability. A total of 15 sirens were out of service at 1054. At 1109 power was restored to 13 of the 15 sirens leaving 2 sirens without power.
