The proposed changes will revise the testing methodology utilized by VCSNS to i
determine the operability of the charcoal adsorbers in the Engineering Safeguards Features (ESF) air handling units. Technical Specifications 3/4.7.6, " Control Room Normal and Emergency Air Handling System," and 3/4.9.11, " Spent Fuel Pool Ventilation System," charcoal adsorber testing methodology are being changed to reference ASTM D 38031989 instead of ANSI N509-1980.
j Currently, VCSNS tests the charcoal adsorbers in the ESF air handling units per ANSI N5091980. Although thin method of testing provides assurance that the charcoal i
