The following refueling information is included in the Monthly Report as requested in a letter to Mr. G. C. Andognini dated January 18, 1978 i

For your convenience, the information supplied has been enumerated so that each number corresponds to equivalent notation utilized in the request.

Due to their similarity, requests 4, 5 & 6 are responded to col-

6 The fuel,'which is presently expected to be loaded during the next scheduled shutdown, may be reload fuel of a new design and may there-fore require.a proposed license submittal and technical specification changes. It is not possible, however, to supply pertinent information on dates. As information concerning fuel design, core configuration, Operational Review Committee determinations, proposed licensing action, and technical specification submittals becomes available, it will be forwarded to you.

There are 580 fuel assemblies in the core.

(b)

There are 580 fuel assemblies in the spent fuel pool.

8 (a)

The station is presently licensed to store 2320 spent fuel assemblies..The actual spent fuel storage capacity is 830 fuel assemblies. This reduction in capacity from last month-resulted from removing old storage racks to make room for the new type.

(b) The planned spent fuel storage capacity is 2320 fuel assemblies.

9 With present fuel storage ' capacity, the spent fuel pool does not have the capacity to accommodate an additional 580 fuel assemblies.

SUMMARY

OF OPERATIONS FOR NOVEMBER, 1978 On November 1, 1978 PNPS was operating at approximately 100% reactor power and continued at this level until November 4 On November 4, power was reduced to 50% for approximately four hours to change brushes on "A" recircu-lation M-G set.

Reactor power was returned to 100% at 2125 hours0.0246 days <br />0.59 hours <br />0.00351 weeks <br />8.085625e-4 months <br /> on November 4 and continued at this level until November 11 On November 12, reactor power was reduced to 40% to repair seal cooler leak on "A" reactor feed pump and backwash the main condenser. Af ter completion of maintenance, reactor power was increased in accordance with station PC10FRs.

On November 13 with reactor power at approximately - 93%, the seal on "B" reactor feed pump blew. Power was reduced to 80% to repair the blown seal.

Af ter seal repairs were completed, power was increased to 100% and remained at 100% for the remainder of the month.
