OF THE APRIL 5,1983 MEETING WITH PHILADELPHIA ELECTRIC COMPANY PERTAIriING TO STATUS OF REVIEW 0F APPENDIX R MODIFICATIONS Members of the NRC staff met with representatives of Philadelphia Electric Company (the licensee) on April 5,1983. A list of the meeting attendees is provided as Enclosure 1. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the status of Appendix R. Fire Protection Program, modifications at the licensee's Peach Bottom facility. The licensee confirmed three areas of Appendix R (10 CFR Part 50, Appendix R) where additional work, design and modifications still were required; namely, Section III G. Safe Shutdown capability Section M. Cable Penetration Seal Qualification, and Section III F Automatic Fire Detection. Presentations on these three areas by the licensee included a general description of modifications to be performed and target dates for submittal of design descriptions and completion of modifications.
