DELETION OF OVERTIME RESTRICTIONS (TAC NO. MA5030)

Dear Mr. Davis:

The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendrz..t No.153 to the Yankee Atomic Electric Company (YAEC) Possession Only License (POL) No. DPR-3 for the Yankee Nuclear Power Station. This amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications (TSs) in response to your application dated March 17,1999.

The amendment revises TS Section 6.0, Administrative Controls, by deleting TS Section 6.2.2.f, 5

which contains limits on the working hours of plant staff. The amendment also authorizes the incorporation of appropriate working hour restrictions into licensee-controlled documents or programs. In approving this action, the staff relied upon YAEC's commitment in its March 17, 1999, letter to provide appropriate working hour restrictions in its Administrative Procedures.

A copy of the related Safety Evaluation is also enclosed. The Notice of issuance will be included in the Commission's next biweekly Federal Reaister notice.
